Any project manager works with four variables: spending, schedule, time and quality. A bit more challenging objective is to improve business organization and resource distribution. Look at any project and you will notice that it employes people, funds and equipment to deliver end results. To manage projects successfully one should handle a number of things. Some of them are listed below:
- Task setting and reviewing achievement.
- Dealing with risk. Most have a certain level of uncertainty.
- Assigning and managing resources.
- Defining the products of the project.
- Managing what is happening: assigning jobs, supervising the work-in-progress.
- Managing adequate quality.
- Handling instability. Circumstances change. The majority of tasks develop in time, so the factor of dynamics should be properly considered.
- Communicating with sponsors and participants of the project.
To handle these issues you can use pen and a notepad or probably MS EXCEL. However, you get quite a few advantages if you go for project tracking software:
- Idividual jobs are easier to assign to dates and times. (more…)
