Semiconductors are believed to be a special kind of chemical elements. This event influenced the fast development of semiconductor devices. That was the beginning of the epoch of semiconductor technologies.

Stimulated emission is really a very interesting characteristic of semiconductors that has been researched for several tens of years. By means of such principles as p - n barriers and heterojunction scientists managed to design laser device in the beginning of the 60's.
